Rivervale is home to more than 8,400 people following a significant growth between 2006 and 2011.

The inner city suburb is just five kilometres to Perth’s CBD and part of the City of Belmont’s municipality.

Its property landscape is dominated by 57.5 per cent houses, while there is 14.4 per cent townhouses, duplexes and villas and 28.1 per cent apartments and units.

Of these properties, 19.5 per cent are fully owned, while 28.4 per cent are being purchased and 51.5 per cent are rented.

The annual growth rate in Rivervale for the year to the last quarter was 12 per cent, which is almost double Perth’s overall growth rate of 6.6 per cent.

Rivervale’s family-friendly lifestyle is an appealing feature of the inner-city suburb. There are numerous parks and ovals, such as Wilson Park, which features a number of netball courts open for public use, as well as a playground and community centre. Other features of note include the East Gate Commercial Centre, the Kooyong Road Shopping Strip and two local schools, Tranby Primary School and ST Augustine’s Primary School.
